The CRFSC recognizes that discords or disputes regarding the implementation of CalCode may occasionally arise between the retail food industry and Enforcement Agencies. The intention of this process is to provide an objective third party review for resolving disputes. Petitions will be processed by CRFSC only when all of the FOLLOWING CRITERIA ARE MET:
  1. The conflict/dispute is an interpretation of CalCode:
  2. All attempts at resolution have been exhausted at the local level; and
  3. The conflict/dispute has statewide or regional impact

Instructions

There are two ways to submit a completed form:

Electronic Submission (Preferred)

  1. Click the print button.
  2. When prompted, choose Microsoft XPS Document Writer. Click here for more information on printing to Microsoft XPS Document Writer.
  3. When prompted, save the file to your computer (e.g., your desktop).
  4. Create a new e-mail message, attach the file, and send the form to Susan Strong at susan.strong@cdph.ca.gov.

Hardcopy Submission

  1. Click the Print button.
  2. When prompted, choose your favorite printer.
  3. Mail the printed form to S. Strong, CDPH, POB 997435 MS 7602, Sacramento, CA 95899-7435

Important Notes

If you choose the Acrobat option to Attach to E-mail, your responses will NOT be included in the e-mailed version. Do not use this technique.

If you choose the Acrobat option to Save a Copy, your responses will NOT be included in the saved version. Do not use this technique.

On May 15, 2006, the Governor signed into law SB 144 (Runner) which enacted the California Retail Food Code (CalCode).

This new law which completely replaces the California Uniform Retail Food Facilities Law (CURFFL), represents a culmination of an extraordinary collaborative effort of the California Retail Food Safety Coalition (CRFSC) – a broad-based coalition of federal, state and local regulators and the retail food industry.
